This edition presents a theoretical and conceptual reflection on the expressive forms of violence in Colombia, and develops a situated characterization of the armed conflict in four zones of the department: Urabá, Valle de Aburrá, Bajo Cauca and Ituango (North of Antioquia). The expressive forms of violence are introduced as an analytical unit to carry out studies on the Colombian armed conflict. We are interested in the performative capacity and ritualization of such practices, because of the messages they transmit and the sedimentation they achieve in the lived experience by influencing action.
