This issue presents a balance of the general features of the Colombian armed conflict and identifies some of the main problems and challenges facing the country, in terms of Human Rights, at the end of the Uribe Vélez era. In popular, political and even academic jargon, this government was characterized as the "Government of the Horrible Night".
